DALLAS, March 18, 2014 – Highland Capital Management, L.P. (“Highland”), a Dallas-based investment management firm, which together with its affiliates has approximately $19 billion in assets under management, announced the appointment of Theresa Pope as Director of Consultant Relations. Ms. Pope will report to Jess Larsen, Head of Institutional Sales and Marketing for Highland Capital Management and will be based in New York City.
“Theresa’s relationships in the investment consultant business will enable Highland to broaden its institutional targets and grow its existing investment consultant relationships,” Mark Okada Co-Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Highland Capital Management said. “With the increased focus of institutional investors towards alternatives, Theresa is a welcome addition to the Business Development team here at Highland.”
Ms. Pope will be responsible for cultivating and identifying new relationships with investment consultants with the goal of obtaining increased access to the institutional investor markets. She will be a member of the Business Development team which is responsible for developing and executing the firm’s global growth initiatives related to new products, fund formation, strategic growth and asset gathering.

Ms. Pope has fifteen years of industry experience and most recently worked at American Century as Vice President in the Institutional Consultants Relations and Client Sales division. Prior to American Century, Ms. Pope was a Director at AllianceBernstein in its Institutional Consultant Relations and Business Development division.
She earned her B.A. from Brown University and her M.B.A. from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
